Anthony has decided to settle down and marry but he wants to choose a wife that he would never fall in love with and the season’s Incomparable is just a perfect choice. However, Anthony must go past the strict clutches of her older sister. Their constant bickering ends up in a battle of their inner fears and realizations that will forever change their lives.
This book is so similar to the first one only that it was an older sister and not an older brother, and I hated how Anthony couldn’t even see that. The constant bickering of the two was enjoyable although at times I found it annoying. However, by the latter part of the book, we see Anthony’s sweet and softy side and I couldn’t help but melt.
I was kind of disappointed that we had less interactions with the other Bridgerton siblings here despite Anthony being a family man and both a brother and father figure to his siblings. We get to see some of Colin though and he never fails to shine in every scene he appears. I say he definitely is a little matchmaker.
This may be the second book but you can read this as a standalone, as well as the other books in the series. So, if you do not wish to read the first one, you can definitely read this without missing anything. Given the series adaptation arc on Anthony and how it ended for him, I wonder how the second season of Bridgerton would approach this book. I’m already excited! If you can’t wait for the second season of the Netflix adaptation, I’d recommend this book!
